Julie was born just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in both Pennsylvania and Utah.  She graduated from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and practiced in Salt Lake City for several years before moving to Maryland where she practiced at a community association law firm near Baltimore.  She loved living on the East Coast and enjoyed the challenge of practicing in a new jurisdiction.  Julie has returned to Salt Lake City and joined Miller Harrison in September 2018. 

Practice Emphasis:

Julie specializes in community association law and has a unique perspective having represented numerous associations in both Utah and Maryland.  Julie has extensive experience in all aspects of community association law, including drafting and amending governing documents, interpreting governing provisions, enforcement, collections and post-judgment proceedings, general board governance, and training of association boards.   Julie is also experienced in quiet title, construction defect, general real property, and miscellaneous civil litigation matters. 

Community Involvement:

Julie served on the Board of Directors for the Utah Chapter of Community Associations Institute (UCCAI) for three years and has been involved with UCCAI in various other capacities.  Julie also served as the Committee Co-Chair for the Tuesday Night Bar (Utah’s Free Legal Clinic) and as the Secretary of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the Utah State Bar.

Personal:

Julie enjoys traveling, especially to New York City.  In addition, she loves gardening, hanging out with her family, and playing the piano.
