Michael is the proud father of six children, which means that when he is away from the law office he is most likely down at the ballpark either coaching or cheering.  In addition to family and sports, Michael enjoys the outdoors, reading, and road trips. 

PRACTICE EMPHASIS:

Michael is a partner at Miller Harrison.  Michael is recognized as one of Utah's Business Legal Elite in the area of Real Estate. He specializes in all aspects of community association law, which includes governing document drafting and rewrites, turnover disputes, general board governance, enforcement, complex litigation, new association development, and disputes between associations and members.  Michael has represented hundreds of community associations throughout Utah and was key in drafting the Utah Supreme Court briefing for the Davencourt case which was monumental in establishing the rights of Utah community associations and their owners.  Michael is a regular presenter at community association educational events, has authored several educational articles, and has been interviewed by local newspapers on community association affairs.

LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE AND INVOLVEMENT:

Michael currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Legislative Drafting and Analysis Committee for the Community Association Institute’s Utah Legislative Action Committee (ULAC).  Michael has served on ULAC for several years helping to draft and promote healthy community association legislation.
